Food and Drink

One of my favorite things about Chicago is the food scene. I think it first started when my mother-in-law took me to Mon Ami Gabi when it first opened – I think it was back in the 90s – and I fell instantly in love. Whether I’m indulging in deep-dish pizza at a classic local spot, exploring the incredible restaurants in West Loop’s Restaurant Row, or hunting down the best tacos in Pilsen, there’s always something new (and delicious) to try.

What I love most is how Chicago’s food scene is just as diverse as its neighborhoods. You can start your morning with a perfectly crafted latte in Wicker Park, grab a legendary Italian beef sandwich, and end the night sipping cocktails in a Gold Coast rooftop bar—all in one day. From hole-in-the-wall gems to Michelin-starred dining, this city does food like nowhere else.

If you’re a foodie like me, you’ll want to dive into Chicago’s best brunch spots, must-try street food, craft breweries, and hidden speakeasies. Whether you’re craving comfort food, global flavors, or a fine dining experience, this guide has you covered. Bring your appetite—Chicago is ready to impress!
